Referenced in Ian Skennerton's book 'The Lee-Enfield', Qld Maple was used for stocking Lithgow (AUS) manufactured rifles for a short time in the late 1930's. QLD Maple is a timber species found on the North East coast of Australia varying from light to medium darkness, with a yellow hue.
