The part is supplied in the raw for you to finish as desired. As with original stock sets, final fitting to your individual rifle is required for best results. Referenced in Ian Skennerton's book 'The Lee-Enfield', coachwood was the primary timber used for stocking Lithgow (AUS) manufactured rifles.
A number of earlier British rifles have been noted refurbished in the early 1940's with the original timber replaced with this timber. Coachwood is a timber species found on the East coast of Australia varying from light to medium darkness, with a pinkish hue.
